Leghari, federal minister for IT and telecom, said on Thursday
ensuring a regulated environment and level playing fields for
investors would be focus of the government during next two years.
“The government has proved its intention through transparent telecom
policy, which attracted largest ever local and foreign investment
within a year,” he told a tele-conference on 2005 outlook for
telecom and banking sectors organized by BMA Capital. He said the
telecom ministry is optimistic of achieving all set targets within
next two years due to inspiring response of the world’s leading
telecom stakeholders in Pakistan’s deregulated sector. Farrukh Khan,
CEO BMA Capital, said the tele-conference is aimed to bring together
the top investors in Pakistan and from around the region to discuss
