Ehsun Khan - Head of Corporate Finance & Advisory

Ehsun Khan is the Head of Corporate Finance & Advisory at BMA Capital. Mr. Khan has extensive experience in financial advisory and his key transaction experience include buy side advisory on privatisation of:

  • Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited.
  • National Refinery Limited.
  • Pakistan State Oil Company Limited.
  • Pakistan PTA Limited and
  • He is also part of the team working on a large real estate development project in Karachi.

Previously, he was Head of Investment Grade Sovereign Research at Morgan Stanley in London. In that capacity, Mr. Khan was responsible for providing primary and secondary market research on sovereign and sub-sovereign issuers in the US$, Euro and JPY markets.

After Morgan Stanley, he joined Brunswick Direct as a shareholding partner. Brunswick Direct was an online equity broker which made markets in local currency in more than 20 emerging markets all over the world. At Brunswick Direct Mr. Khan was responsible for European sales and Asian research.

He graduated with a BA in economics from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA and holds a series 7 financial markets qualification in the US.

Sharfyab Khan - Head of Fixed Income Trading

Mr. Sharfyab Khan runs BMA’s Fixed Income desk. Previously he was with Confidence Associated as Treasury Consultant dealing in Foreign Exchange and Money Markets. Prior to this Mr. Khan was at First Capital  ABN AMRO Karachi office in Money Markets & Foreign Exchange Brokerage.

Education

Mr. Khan has been Associate Cost & Management Accountant (ACMA) from the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP), Karachi. Courses included Financial Management Auditing, Management Accounting Advance Cost Accounting, Corporate Law Taxation, Commercial Laws Economic Analysis of Pakistan, Portfolio Management Quantitative Techniques Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Government Premier College, University of Karachi.

Sikandar Iqbal - Head of Foreign Exchange Trading

Mr. Iqbal runs BMA’s Foreign Exchange operations.

Education
Mr. Iqbal has an MBA in Finance from HIMS. His courses Included: Treasury & Fund Management,  Analysis of Financial Statements, Corporate Finance, Security Analysis, Trade Finance, and International Banking. He has a Bachelors of Commerce and intermediate degree from St. Patrick's College. Mr. Iqbal matriculated at the St. Lawrence School. Mr. Iqbal has studied derivatives the Institute of Chartered Accountants pf Pakistan (ICAP).

Muhammad Amir Iqbal - Head of Finance & Operations

Mr. Iqbal has over 13 years of intensive experience in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Audit. Currently he is the Head of Finance & Operations at BMA Asset Management Company Limited. Prior to joining BMA, Mr. Iqbal established and managed the Treasury of Gulistan Group of Companies, and supervised the development of accounting software. He remained with the group as Financial Controller till 2002, and was responsible for implementing International Accounting Standards (IAS) and compliance with corporate governance requirements group-wide. Previously Mr. Iqbal was associated with Muhammad Yousuf Adil Saleem & Co., (MYASCO) Chartered Accountants (Member Deloitte, Touche, Tohmatsu) and completed 4 years of article-ship.

Education
Amir Iqbal is a qualified Chartered Accountants from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

Shehryar Ahmad - Head of Marketing & Corporate Communication

Mr. Ahmad has 12 years experience in marketing, consulting, and finance. Having trained in investment banking with JP Morgan on Wall Street, he has had rich and diverse experience.

Prior to joining BMA Capital, Mr. Ahmad managed Junoon, South Asia's most famous rock group, taking the band from a cult following to worldwide brand recognition as musical icons. During Mr. Ahmad's tenure, Junoon signed an international recording contract with EMI, as well as the largest ever endorsement contract with Coca Cola. Junoon had several #1 MTV hit singles, their triple-platinum albums have sold millions of copies in the subcontinent and worldwide, and have been featured in the world's most reputable media, including Newsweek, Time, The New York Times, BBC, etc. Junoon has performed at prestigious venues including the Presidency in Islamabad, Central Park in New York, the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena in London, and the UN General Assembly. The band has been appointed Global Goodwill Ambassadors by the United Nations.

Mr. Ahmad was earlier involved with the launch of the KFC franchise in Pakistan, and worked as a consultant with ex-Mckinsey principals in Karachi. He set up the customer service function at Reckitt &Colman (now Reckitt Benchizer).
Mr. Ahmad did his bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and graduated from the Karachi American School.

Anwer Hussain - Head of Information Technology

Mr. Hussain is the Head of Information Technology at BMA Capital. He has a Master’s degree in Information Technology and completed several IT professional courses.

Mr. Hussain has more than eight years of IT experience includes system analysis, designing, database administration, QC and support. He has been involved with the installation and management of many local and international software application projects. He has over 6 years of experience in software applications designed for financial markets.

Prior to Joining BMA, Mr. Hussain has worked with Computer Research in Karachi as Project Manager and has managed different software projects for the companies like Citibank, Instaphone, Faysal Bank etc.

Shariq Ali - Head of Equity Group

As Head of the Equities Group, Shariq is responsible for the Equity Sales Group and the Equity Research Group. He spearheads the effort to develop sales and research capability in line with international best practices, so as to achieve clear leadership within Pakistan and promote BMA’s brand equity in the domestic and regional markets.
Prior to joining BMA Capital, Mr. Ali was working as a Financial and Real Estate Consultant in New York. In the past, he has also worked with Global Resource Alliance Services in Karachi and SG Securities (Singapore) in Karachi where he was instrumental in setting up their Pakistan office and running it successfully for 8 years. He has also worked as fund manager with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Investment Management (Asia) Pvt Ltd in Singapore and Mashreq Bank in Dubai.

Education
Mr. Ali has a Masters in Business Administration degree with majors in Corporate Finance & Investment Banking from Pace University, Lu bin Graduate School of Business, New York and has more than 16 years of experience in equities, corporate finance, fund management and real estate.
